Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square Stage

As a forward-thinking creative events agency, we’re always on the lookout for great new acts and entertainment to entertain at our events.

At a recent London showcase, I was lucky to see some of the best.  The event was held at the iconic Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square, which provided a stunning backdrop for an evening of rip-roaring and side-splitting entertainment.

The event opened with style as an energetic Parkour act back-flipped and tumbled across the stage leaving audience jaws wide open. There were plenty of high quality, familiar faces - Omid Djalili, Holly Walsh, Rich Hall and Mark Watson – but the highlight of the evening for me was the young talent breaking through the comedy ranks.

Firstly, Matt Richardson, who is mostly known for his TV shows appearances (Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Celebrity Juice, Xtra Factor) was a real breath of fresh air, with an array of witty banter that kept the audience rolling in the aisles throughout his set. He was followed by Chris Turner – superbly funny, yet a relative newcomer to the circuit. He brought a completely new dimension to musical comedy which can only be described as Eminem meets Made in Chelsea. Chris was a former member of the Racing Minds improv troupe, and combines sharp gags with the freshest and most insane freestyle rap created by using random words from the audience.

For those that like to have their minds “melded” during a performance, Chris Cox was on hand delivering a mix of chit-chat, psychology, and mind reading. Chris is star of the hit West End show ‘Impossible’ and was the star of BBC Three’s ‘Killer Magic’ show and creates some phenomenal mind tricks in comedic fashion.

But as fantastic as all these acts were, Beardyman stole the show by closing the night with his fast-paced and energetic beat boxing that whipped the crowd into a frenzy. He combined some of the slickest beats, with an impressive comedy routine that made it more than just a man making noises into a mic. It was a completely mesmerizing set, which left the audience aghast, wondering how he produced such complicated sound arrangements from just his vocal cords.
