Our client have been running their Data Citizens event for several years in New York for the American market. This was their inaugural event for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). London was identified as the preferred location for a one day conference. The venue was to be modern with suitable spaces for sponsor booths, networking and catering. There was a strong emphasis on quality across all areas – venue, catering, production, branding and guest experience.
East Winter Garden in Canary Wharf was selected to stage the event, based on its impressive appearance with impactful floor to ceiling windows and contemporary architecture. Delivering the company's new brand effectively was a key part of the client requirement.
The exterior of the venue was lit in blue, large vinyls were applied to the East Vestibule entrance, 8m long hanging banners draped interior walls of the presentation space and a 20m wide stage set standing over 5m tall provided the focal point for presentations.
The interior space was also lit in the brand colours and company logo projected onto sails suspended from the ceiling. The brand was also delivered in the build-up to the event through advertising at Canary Wharf tube station.
To build engagement at the event, delegates downloaded a fully-customised DC EMEA event app, giving them access to the agenda, speaker and delegate profiles and sponsor information. It also facilitated communication between delegates and participation in Q&A sessions, live polling and gamification.
Delegate name badges incorporated RFID technology enabling them to be scanned by sponsors using pre-loaded tablets with customised lead-capture software.
