Brief

Our client reached out to us to help organise a two night overseas retreat in June for 60 of their employees. The whole event had to include many WOW moments as they were celebrating their 10 year anniversary.

Solution

After looking at a few overseas destinations, the client confirmed the Italian provence of Tuscany, staying at the 5* hotel Castel Monastero, which due to the large group number they had exclusively.

When the guests arrived on Wednesday, they had some free time to explore the hotel while we were busy setting up the courtyard for their gala dinner. The evening events started with speeches from the CEO while the group were sipping on cocktails and enjoying the evening Tuscan sun. A five piece live band set the tone while the four course gala dinner was inspired by the location, with courses of seasonal pasta and Italian desserts all accompanied with local wines.

After morning meetings on the second day, the team went to Siena where they took part in a tuk tuk tour to explore the city. This fantastic excursion is a great way for a group to experience a city, especially as the group made various stops to try the local delicacies (gelato & Italian pastries). The group met at the Art Café in Siena for pre dinner drinks and nibbles. The Art Café is a small courtyard venue just off the main street in Siena and part of the musical department of the local university. A student from the university performed opera singing for the group while they were sipping on their Aperol Spritz- a lovely surprise for the client.

The final morning was a scorcher – with temperatures reaching early 30 degrees. Everyone had the choice of how they wanted to spend the morning before departing to the airport. They could choose between yoga by the pool, or an e bike tour, however, with the weather being so lovely, the majority of the guests spent their morning in the outdoor pool and relaxing in the spa.
