Brief
Having stuck to the very successful ‘warm and sunny’ incentive destinations for the last 5 years, this was time to try something different. Something unusual, somewhere unexpected – cool, classy and within 4 hours of the UK. A destination that was going to get the salesforce inspired during the campaign, but also over-delivered on the ground.
Solution
Iceland – the coolest destination to date. In so many ways. Our group of 60 set down in Reykjavik late afternoon Friday and, once checked-in, were escorted to a local brewery to soak up the fantastic harbor view - and local brew! Helped along the way by a 3 course dinner and 24 hours of daylight. Saturday was all-out action. For starters - Super Jeeps! The group were split across a convoy of these monster 4x4’s, adapted specifically for the terrain and unique to Iceland. First stop was the hot springs and Great Geysir – the mother of all geysers - for a frenzy of camera phone activity.
After lunch it was back in the Jeeps and a cross country dash (ok, crawl) across the vast and beautiful landscape to the Glacier. Here guests slipped into snowsuits and climbed aboard Snowmobiles for an afternoon of extreme snow fun, before dropping by the Gullfloss Waterfall for an essential photo (or twelve).
Saturday evening’s final dinner was held at the Perlan Dome, where guests enjoyed drinks on the rooftop, dinner in the revolving restaurant and stunning views over the city. After dinner, it was onto a VIP area in one of Reykjavík's top nightspots.
On the final day, we took guests to the Blue Lagoon, where they got to relax with mud masks in the hot springs. Once suitably chilled, the group had lunch at the venue’s top rated Lava restaurant before returning to the airport for their journey home.
