Osea Island

Once upon a time, in a land filled with inflatable dart boards, stilt walkers, magicians and crystal mazes, nine intrepid explorers set off on a 24-hour adventure to Osea Island with just an overnight bag and Ocado delivery.

This must mean one thing – The Rockitfish annual summer escape!

The first task for the team - to reach the island during low tide before being cut off - Osea Island is on the Blackwater Estuary and can only be reached twice a day at low tide; thankfully everyone made it.

Our base for the adventure was the beautiful Captain’s House on the ‘coast’ of the island, beautifully furnished and equipped with everything we required for the next 24 hours of fun.

Our island host and Girl Friday, Rose, met us after a light breakfast with our bikes to whiz around the island in style(!?). She took us on a tour of the various unique spaces and facilities in the ‘village’ which lend themselves brilliantly to creative events, corporate festivals, product launches, team offsites and leadership meetings

The ‘village’ itself has a clubhouse (with bar!), tennis courts and heated pool that we all made good use of as well as croquet and cricket on the playing fields.

All this activity required plenty of fuel and we enjoyed making use of the open plan kitchen to prepare a Mexican feast for lunch and then in the evening we all enjoyed a BBQ banquet whilst the sun set over the tranquil waters. The remainder of the evening was spent around the campfire with tales and laughter.

The next day there was time for a quick coffee and snack before the race began to beat the tide and get back to the office!

We can’t believe how much Osea Island had to offer and what we managed to fit in, all just a short distance from London. So if you are looking for a truly different event experience we would be happy to take you on the adventure.
