We were looking for an event venue in London late last year to host a team of 50 people. We wanted to design a team experience, very removed from the client’s corporate environment, and wanted a setting which felt very different.

We settled on Lumiere London Southbank. It’s one of a selection of Lumiere London venues, founded by acclaimed fashion photographer, Carlos Lumiere. Nestled in the heart of Southwark, only 5 minutes walk from the station, the venue offers a variety of flexible, creative and unique spaces suitable for a wide range of events from meetings and product launches to parties and team building.

The venue has 4 fantastic spaces - Tropical Library, Gallery, Victorian Loft and White Loft.  The venue’s original purpose is as a photographic studio. This has produced 4 very different spaces, each with its own distinct character and style delivered through the décor, layout and furniture.  We used the Gallery on the second Floor and the Victorian loft on the third floor, as they share an entrance and are connected by stairs. This mix worked superbly for 2 very different bespoke team experiences we created on site. Staff were great.

The venue offered in-house catering solutions, but also flexibility to bring in some of our own elements at a small charge. They have meeting equipment, all furniture and most of the spaces have a kitchens. The event was a huge success and the guests commented on how much they loved the look and feel of the venue and wouldn’t hesitate to use again.  Lumiere are opening up more venues across London regularly, with their latest Old Street property recently opened.
