Searching for potential venues is a huge part of my job at Rockitfish, and as useful and versatile as hotels can be, they are all pretty similar to one another.

So, when a new and exciting venue comes to light, is it no wonder that I want to book it! And what can be more exciting than a luxury camp nestled on a hillside in the Lalla Takerkoust region of Morocco?

camp

Created in 2020, Kalyptus Luxury camp is just that – luxurious. The entire camp is inspired by authentic berber homes, stylishly furnished, and spread over more than 4.5 acres. It is the first established camp in the region and it certainly looks like the best luxury camp in Africa.

Now, a luxury camp might not seem like the perfect corporate venue, but after the madness of the last two years, what better place to rest and reconnect with colleagues. This is an off site like no other…

Creating an itinerary at Kalyptus would be great fun. There is no end to new and exciting team building opportunities -– from camel rides to off road on a quad bike to trekking through the mountains with a guide.

And there is no need to wear black tie to dinner here. At Kalyptus you get to sample local fresh ingredients and devour traditional Moroccan cooking, providing a multi-sensory experience. Then you can boogie the night away and watch an ensemble of Kanoun players (traditional string instrument) play the lively Gnaoua music or even better, join in with the Dakka el Marrachia, a unique musical tradition where you bang your hands on a flat surface to create a truly vibrant and lively atmosphere.

Retire in one of the twenty deluxe tents at Kalyptus, designed to create an atmosphere for rest and reconnection. They are spacious, with modern bathrooms and king-sized beds and some boast private terraces with space for outdoor dining.

Kick start day two with yoga overlooking the spectacular Atlas Mountains, or take a dip in the pool, surrounded by views of the nearby eucalyptus forest. Then head into the hustle and bustle of Marrakech on a guided city tour to snap up some souvenirs for the office.

Kalyptus looks like a truly wonderful place, with enchanting and breath-taking scenic views. I would love to organise a corporate away day here, a unique experience that promises to bring a dizzying mix of culture, exploration, and adventure.

Now, how do I go about getting a FAM trip…
