Brief
We have produced this highly innovative game developer’s annual celebration for the previous three years. This year, the celebration coincided with their latest new game release – presenting an excellent opportunity to mark the launch of the first in a new trilogy of games. The afternoon was to be informal and fun, and positioned as a thank you rather than a team building event. The ambition for the evening was to then immerse staff, and invited key partners, into the game’s theme, story and styling.
Solution
We staged the daytime event on the South Lawns at the Royal Museums Greenwich. This stunning central London location offered the perfect setting for a relaxed afternoon in the sunshine, complete with BBQ and bar. The space was large enough for our 180 guests with plenty of room for a wide variety of outdoor activities including giant inflatable games, a circus skills workshop, crazy golf, over-sized puzzles and fairground side stalls.
It was then just a short walk to Greenwich pier and a private boat charter that cruised guests along the Thames directly docking beside the HMS Belfast. The new game is set on an old sunken ship in the 1040’s, so the historic warship became the perfect evening themed venue. Guests were welcomed on board by a vintage vocal harmony trio with a choice of custom-designed cocktails - one for each of the three games within the trilogy. Each of the decks hosted various live cooking stations and entertainment, including green screen photography featuring the gaming backdrops. Bespoke costumed actors from the game roamed the decks, bringing their creativity to life and presenting some very curious photo opportunities.
Guests were also able to explore the museum on board, where the theme continued with props, including life-sized replica rotting skeletons.
"Just wanted to say thanks to you and the team for organising another fantastic event! We’ve had lots of positive feedback and it really was a great day! Roll on 2020!"
