Case Study

Brief

To recognise the fantastic achievements of the past year and in building the business, the brief was to create an overseas experience to celebrate as a team. The group headed to the amazing and quirky city of Amsterdam where they were greeted by a wide range of sights and activities to delight all tastes and to reward the team.

Solution

Well known for its narrow houses and prominent canals, Amsterdam was perfect for the fun-seeking and foodie group. The journey started early Friday morning at London St Pancras, ready for the 4hr Eurostar all the way through to the Dutch capital. On arrival, there was a 10-minutewalk to Hilton Amsterdam, situated adjacent to the canal.

After an informal lunch and an afternoon at leisure, the group were picked up by boat from the hotel for a pre-dinner cruise around the city’s canals. Travelling through the beautiful sights and sipping Prosecco, the group were taxied to their dinner venue for a three-course meal at D’Vijff Vlieghen - an intimate and rustic venue showcasing authentic Dutch food.

Saturday was met with an action packed day full of activities. Departing from the old harbour in Volendam on an E-Chopper tour, the group explored scenic meadows and traditional windmills followed by a stop at Jacobs Hoeve Cheese farm for a farm tour and cheese tasting. The group then headed to the authentic Dutch village of Monnickendam for a spot of afternoon lunch at De Waegh.

Early evening, the group experienced an interactive tour of the world-famous Heinekenbrewery. A special VIP guided tour showcased the history of Heineken using all 5 senses, and of course the opportunity to sample the new Heineken Silver brew. The VIP group were treated to access to the roof top terrace to enjoy the fantastic views of the city. Dinner followed, at Bar Italia for some tasty Italian dishes then finally checking out some of the local bars.

Sunday was more relaxed, where people were free to explore in their own leisure time before reconvening at the very cool Hannekas Boom for a final lunch before travelling to the station for the return journey.
