End of Year Awards & Party
Brief
After another year of significant growth for the Group, the Board wanted to stage an event that not only recognised high performance but also helped integrate recently acquired businesses.
They required a pacey and varied evening that mixed business update, awards and celebration. London was the preferred location, and the venue needed to comfortably accommodate 450 people for dinner, dancing and socialising.
Solution
The iconic Alexandra Palace in North London, perhaps most famous for hosting the first ever television broadcast, was chosen to host a high energy End of Year Awards and Party. With fantastic panoramic views of the city and a large ‘blank canvas’ space, it offered something very different to previous venues.
To make the most of the space and the style of the venue, architectural lighting was used to highlight the steel latticework across the roof, while different lighting structures and effects were used to create three different zones in the space.
A main presentation and dining space, featuring a large stage set, occupied the front of the West Hall. The rest of the Hall was then split between a ‘lounge bar’, with retro lighting, furniture and bars – and a ‘club area’ with LED dancefloor, DJ booth and screens, and lasers and effect lighting.
