The Brief: Creating a Unified Brand Experience During an Exhibition Week
When two prominent gaming brands joined forces during one of Europe's largest gaming exhibition weeks, our client wanted to maximise the opportunity to showcase their strategic partnership. The brief required a VIP networking event designed as an impactful, pre-show moment in Barcelona.
The primary objective was to take guests on an experiential journey through both distinct brand worlds using colour, light, and technology. One brand was to be represented by fun, vibrant blues, and the other by bold, energetic orange. Rockitfish was tasked with creating an environment where these two distinct identity spaces could seamlessly transition into a unified, collaborative experience for high-profile industry guests.

The client's criteria demanded a design-led environment capable of standing out during a crowded exhibition week. Key logistics and creative frameworks included sourcing an architecturally unique venue, advanced lighting and sound engineering, custom wearable tech, projection-mapping content creation, and professional crowd flow management.
The Solution: A High-Tech, Design-Led Brand Activation
1. Architectural Venue Selection & Dynamic Arrival
To set an immediate and sophisticated tone, Rockitfish sourced Esferic, a striking venue in Barcelona known for its circular structure and glowing facade. Guests arrived to a dramatic blue-lit exterior and a premium black-carpet entrance, featuring integrated motion-sensor lighting that dynamically tracked their movement into the venue. Upon check-in, each guest received an advanced LED wristband programmed to pulse and synchronise, building visual momentum as attendance increased.
2. Immersive Technology & Live Entertainment Integration
The guest arrival was seamlessly paired with professional hosts, LED performers, and premium drinks and canapés. As the venue reached capacity, an advanced projection-mapping sequence activated on a large central cube, displaying targeted event content and partnership brand assets. The room's lighting engineered a gradual, fluid transition from brand blue to warm amber, supported by an expertly coordinated sound design.
3. Strategic Spatial Design for VIP Networking
The main evening space was strategically laid out to foster natural high-level networking, positioning a premium bar centrally to encourage seamless room circulation. The environmental lighting merged blended gradients of blue and amber to create sophisticated teal tones, visually reflecting the new partnership. Simultaneously, the audience's LED wristbands responded live to room density and movement, turning the guests themselves into part of the event decor.
4. Projection-Mapped Cube Performance & Finale
The highlight of the evening featured an awe-inspiring, custom-choreographed performance interacting directly with the central projection-mapped cube. A live performer synced perfectly with shifting digital visuals as the ambient lighting transitioned fully into bold orange, representing the second gaming brand. The performance culminated in a unified display, with all guest wristbands synchronising to final lighting and audio cues. Following the reveal, the music transitioned into a lower-tempo electronic set, softening the ambience as guests moved into dedicated luxury lounge areas to close out a memorable brand experience.
