We were recently invited to experience some pre-match hospitality at Under The Bridge, courtesy of the Non-Matchday Events Team at Chelsea FC.

This was a great opportunity for us to see this state-of-the-art underground party venue, as well as the numerous conference and event spaces that Stamford Bridge has to offer.

We also took along 3 of our valued clients to enjoy the hospitality with us. After an insightful tour and some complimentary food & drink, we headed off into the stands to watch the Premiership match against Tottenham.

With both teams fighting for a place in Europe next season, this match was a sell-out, and the crowd brought an electric atmosphere to the stadium. Full of emotion and unforgettable moments, packed sports stadiums are an experience like no other. Home to national teams and some of the most famous clubs in the world, they offer a memorable and unique setting, typically associated with excitement and entertainment. This is exactly why they make such great venues for corporate events.

A sports stadium can often raise the profile of the event. Whether it’s for a company meeting, exhibition or party, you can enjoy unique pitch-side dining, exclusive access to directors’ boxes, and a choice of some of the most flexible event spaces in the UK. Like Chelsea FC, many stadiums also have adjoining hotels or nearby partner hotels offering preferred rates, making them even more appealing for late finishes or events spanning more than one day. Beyond the event itself, stadiums may offer additional entertainment options such as tours, access to team facilities, or even the opportunity to watch a game.

The Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards recognises the efforts and dedication shown by the catering, conference and events teams at every football, rugby and cricket stadium across the UK. In 2023, 78 clubs were nominated, with 20 different venues scooping awards across 14 categories. Newcastle United Football Club scooped four of the top awards (plus others), including the top gong for Overall Matchday Hospitality Experience 2023, fighting off tough competition from 27 participating venues across the leagues. Chelsea FC came in silver position and Headingley Stadium took bronze.

Choosing a sporting venue doesn’t necessarily come at a high price. With corporate events often a secondary income, the stadiums can often offer very reasonable rates compared to neighbouring hotels and conference venues. They're also usually conveniently located close to public transport.
